Marie J. O’Brien (she/her) is a partner in AGMB’s Mortgage Compliance Practice and Co-Chair of the Firm’s DEIA Committee. Marie assists private mortgage lenders and brokers, financial institutions, and credit unions develop and maintain effective mortgage compliance management systems.  Marie provides guidance on applicable federal and state requirements, such as ECOA, fair lending, anti-money laundering, disclosures, advertising, and privacy.  Marie has experience handling all aspects of licensing and reporting, including but not limited to, assisting with company and mortgage loan originator licensing, preparing and filing reports, such as NMLS Mortgage Call Reports, HMDA, state-specific annual reporting, and Suspicious Activity Reports. Marie also works directly with state banking departments and federal regulatory agencies with regard to various matters, including licensing, changes in control, examinations, requests for information, and responding to consumer inquiries and/or complaints.  Prior to joining AGMB, Marie served as general counsel and compliance manager for two mid-sized mortgage lenders.
